Read this first: Dollev.com

I have this sneaking suspicion that I'm one of the ones he's refering to here. Since getting dumped from my worklife in November, the postings here have been few and far between. I'm not sure the psychological implications of my bs demise, but it seems that now that I don't have 8 hours to kill every weekday, I just don't have anything to say. It just doesn't cross my mind to come here and write. Honestly, even if I did find the inclination, I doubt you'd care much to read it. These have been very sad and desperate times in my life. I feel I'm doing you, who used to come here regularaly a favor by not letting off the steam that I feel every day now. Especially since my unemployment insurance is about to run out and I'm no closer to finding work. I won't even start to describe how that is ripping my psyche into shreds.

At least a few of you still listen to the show. So, that's something. Some connection not lost.

And I cannot begin to describe how excited I am to hear that Dollev is working on getting Freak Magnet on the air again. Jenny and I have really missed him. I'm sure the feeling is mutual when it comes to him seeing the disappearance of the people he used to read on the net daily.

In conclusion, I'll try to find a touch of brightness in all this darkness I'm engulfed it and get back here a bit more often. Or at minimal, open up the mic and put up a ABS from time to time.
Thanks to a commenter from yesterday, I've found where all the BSOTD google search traffic is coming from.

It's the bloody Wall Street Journal Opinion page.

Way at the bottom of this page, there is a single line that says:

BSOTD
"Grl Sends More Than 20,000 Txts in 1 Month Alone"--HL, *P (MUNC, IND), 2DAY

The BSOTD is a link to this page here from of all places, Upland Indiana. And of course, one of my best friends lives there. I doubt he knows this fast fingered girl though.

What I cannot figure out is why did the editor/writer of that page - the WSJ one - use those letters? Makes no sense to me. Oh well, at least I know the source now. And, I'm only slightly let down that I was not the target. I'm used to being practically nonexistent on the web. Nuthin's changed.

Perhaps the irony here is that a obscure link title takes hundreds of people to a story about a girl who texts 20k times in one month to the site of a guy who doesn't even OWN a fuckin' cell phone!

Go figure.

~~~~~
Have you heard the entire recording of Capt. Sullenberger? Go listen to this. I must say, after my small tirade about this last week, I'm glad to see that the media is doing the right thing with Sully; giving him the appreciation he deserves, instead of invisible sky friends.
A cool thing about that recording is now that I've been playing the flight simulator for awhile, I understand damn near every bit of the chatter and numbers being tossed out by the tower and pilots.
~~~~~

Audio B.S. for Feb. 9th, 2009. Not the cheeriest of them. At first.
I'm suddenly a very popular guy. Why? I have yet to figure that out. On Friday, in the afternoon, someone, somewhere managed to get hundreds of people to put bsotd into a search engine. They all ended up here. Can anyone tell me why? I sittin' here thinking, "Oh hell, what did I say NOW?!"

I'm going to continue to look at the logs and see if I can trace where it came from. It's kind of freaky.

Anyway, if you're one of them, bsotd means 'Bullshit Of The Day'. Well, to me anyway...

(Doing that search myself pointed to Blocked Site Of The Day. Wonder if that's where they all wanted to go?)

Have a nice day.
That was one of the numerous titles reporting the water landing on the Hudson River. And oh yeah, you know it's got me steaming. Miracle?

Miracle?!

And of course, then you have the personal accounts from the survivors. Who do they thank first? Yeah, "The Lord". Come on. You folks should be making a bank account for Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger of Danville, California and make sure that he never has to worry about a penny for the rest of his life. You should be thanking him first and foremost. You are alive because of his wits and balls of steel. No other reason.

"We had a miracle on 34th Street. I believe now we have had a miracle on the Hudson," Gov. David Paterson said.

Does he not know how offensive that is to Mr. Sullenberger? Regardless if Mr. Sullenberger is a religious man or not. When will people wake up and realize that to thank some sky friend for them living through a catastrophe is the highest order of toxic self-centeredness?

As some of you know, I've recently been learning a flight simulator. I'll admit, I suck at it. So far. But I can tell you this, Sully and his co-pilot - who's name I cannot find at the moment - knew their shit.

"It was intense. It was intense. You've got to give it to the pilot. He made a hell of a landing," survior Jeff Kolodjay said.

Yeah Jeff, you got it right.
(Later) - Ok, I found 3 Audio BSes that I had forgotten about on the server. This will serve as a 'Best Of The Bullshit'. Or, just catching up to myself, rather. Keep in mind, if you've listened to all the audio bs I've done in the past year or so, you've probably heard these. It's me reading shit. Cool shit, but shit nonetheless. And it runs about 45 minutes. In other words, I don't expect to see a single hit on this one. So, here goes:

A.B.S. #4

In the future, I will do my best to keep these things between two and ten minutes long each. Don't know if you're like me at all and are blessed with a miniscule attention span, but, that's my goal.

That is all. Stay warm, if you're in the northern hemisphere.
Hate to say it, but I have a feeling that the BSOTD is coming to it's end. Now that I don't have the same situation where I have idle time to kill, I just don't seem to think about coming here and writing at all. I'm currently focusing on what the fuck to do with my life at this point. I would love to make all the entries audio, but for some reason, I'm having problems with the new pc making that happen. fucking vista. winblows vista sucks ass in numerous ways. Come on mircourwurft, aren't you supposed to be making it EASIER for your users? NOT harder??

So, when I figure out the most simple way to do audio, I'll get it going. Plus, I'm getting carpal tunnel. Not surprising with the tendinosis shit. It hurts to type anymore.

So, when I get there. I'll post the links to the audio here.

Stay tuned jab fans... (all 4 of ya)
Here it is, day one of unemployment. I awake to just shy of an inch of snow all over the trees and ground. It was a beauty sight, I must admit. Serene scene which makes not being able to sleep well a bit better.
My neck is shot. Pinched nerves in 3 or 4 places. I could only sleep on my left side. I made the mistake of rolling to my right side once but couldn't get back over without fearing I would paralyze myself. This kinda puts the kabash on any plans of getting out of the house today. Not a chance. So, I'm going to write some, do some heavy thinking on just what the hell to do with my screwed up life from here. I'll probably try do get the dishes out of the washer later, if I feel capable.
So much paperwork. So much confusion. So much energy extended trying to stay positive.

I did try to do a new audio bsotd last night, but for some reason, my new pc refused to record in stereo. refused. Even with the shitty little sound recorder in Windows which is in mono. I don't get it. Maybe I'll figure that one out later. Hurts too much to sit here typing. By the way, it shoots fire down my spine into my feet when I swallow. Something's awry.

More later on perhaps.
